Cultural Reforesting Exhibition

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to contribute to Cultural Reforesting, an inspiring exhibition at the Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham. This fantastic show brings together artists exploring a crucial theme: how do we renew our bond with nature? It powerfully argues that we are not merely in relationship with nature, but that we are nature; human animals intertwined with our more-than-human neighbours in a shared, living forest.

My collaboration for this project was with musician Finn Chatwyn-Ros of Crescendo. Finn asked me to create illustrations for a children's music album she developed. The album's songs are a gentle tool for grownups to introduce their little ones to concepts of planetary care. They aim to help children embrace and understand the rich sensory experiences our world offers; from seeing sunlight on clouds to smelling plants or hearing gravel crunch for the first time. Moreover, we hope this album encourages adults to rediscover the "magic of nature" by seeing it through the unjaded eyes of a child.
