Ravenscar is home to an incredible annual spectacle: a large colony of grey and common seals basking on its rocks. This fantastic gathering, unlike any I'd previously encountered, inspired this painting. Here, I wanted to portray the seals' charming, adorable nature alongside the tranquil beauty of the Ravenscar hamlet in the distance.
